The acting President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, today in Harare received the members of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in the city.

The Board Members, who are in Harare for the quarterly meeting of the Board, were accompanied on the visit by Bank President and Board Chairman Dr. Benedict Oramah and the Bank’s three executive vice presidents – Denys Denya, Finance, Administration and Banking Services; Dr. George Elombi, Governance, Legal and Corporate Services; and Amr Kamel, Business Development and Corporate Banking.

Mr. Mnangagwa used the opportunity of the visit to express appreciation to Afreximbank for its support to the Government and people of Zimbabwe and to pledge continued cooperation with the Bank.

The 114th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank is taking place at the Bank’s Harare Branch Office on 23 September.

On the sidelines of the Board Meeting, the Zimbabwean authorities will hand over to Afreximbank the title deed for the land it is donating to the Bank for the construction of its permanent Branch Office in Harare. The handover is expected to be performed by Saviour Kasukuwere, the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing.
