Expression of Interest: Afreximbank African Trade Centre, Barbados — EPC Contractor

African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) intends to establish a state-of-the-art trade centre within the Carlisle Bay district on the southeastern coastline of Barbados. The Barbados Afreximbank African Trade Centre (BAATC) shall be a landmark one-stop business complex and hub offering integrated trade services, trade finance, critical market data, and networking opportunities. The BAATC will facilitate Afri-Caribbean trade and investments, enhancing business opportunities between the Caribbean and Africa. The BAATC will include commercial office space, a business hotel, conference and exhibition facilities, innovation and SME incubation centres, and associated amenities.

Afreximbank invites competent and experienced contractors in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for mixed-use real estate developments to express interest by May 31, 2025.

Submissions should be sent to bfayez@afreximbank.com and must include the following:

  1. General experience of the firm.
  2. Company registration documentation and ownership structure.
  3. Design and construction experience in Barbados and/ or the Caribbean region (International contractors may form joint ventures or subcontract local construction firms).
  4. Proof of experience on EPC delivered mixed-use construction projects valued over 100 million USD in the last five (5) years.
  5. Confirmation of successful fundraising experience with projects of similar or excess quantum.
  6. List of current commitments and statement of sufficient capacity to execute the works.
