CANEX WKND 2022: Afreximbank and Trace Initiate Trace Academia, an Online Professional Training Platform

Olivier Laouchez, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of Trace, the French TV channel dedicated to African music and urban culture, announced the launching of a mobile application for online courses focusing on jobs and entrepreneurship, during a workshop, on Saturday, Day 2 of the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) 2022.

On the sidelines of a workshop on the theme “The Creative Africa Nexus: Supporting Development of the Creative Ecosystem in Africa and the Diaspora’’, Olivier Laouchez explained the main reasons that informed the establishment of the Trace Academia platform, which is the result of a partnership with Afreximbank.

He stated that in Africa, we are facing a challenge, that of the success of the youth.

With nearly 130 online courses, the platform is available in French, English and Portuguese, all 100% free. The courses are designed by top experts in their respective sectors of activity, with certificates issued on completion.

Trace, Afreximbank, and Azza Fahmy, Egyptian Jewellery Designer and Founder of the design house, Azza Fahmy Jewellery, pooled their efforts to develop four online courses on jewellery making.

CANEX WKND aims at connecting African creative and cultural industries through the creation of business to business, and business to government networking and deal-making opportunities.
