Job Summary
The Relationship Manager – ARISE Implant will support Afreximbank and ARISE IIP’s strategic objective of promoting, facilitating, and supporting export development finance within ARISE IIP’s network of industrial parks.
The role will provide banking and financial solutions to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) clients, drive transaction execution, and serve as a key liaison between financial institutions and ARISE IIP clients to ensure timely and successful deal closure.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Management

Develop innovative and appropriate financial solutions tailored to client projects within ARISE IIP SEZs.

Facilitate access to banking products and enable efficient customer onboarding through structured processes and systems.

Serve as the primary liaison between banks and clients.

Structure, negotiate, and support the closing of business transactions with financial institutions.

Ensure successful transaction execution and timely availability of funds in line with banking guidelines.

Analyze operational and financial performance of potential client companies.

Review investment proposals, assess risks and benefits, and conduct structured project discussions with stakeholders.

Manage end-to-end communication between the Bank and clients, including information gathering, execution tracking, and feedback processes.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients (new and existing) and regional/global lending ecosystem partners.
Compliance Responsibilities

Adhere strictly to AML, Regulatory and Conduct Compliance policies.

Report any suspicious or non-compliant activities.

Complete annual compliance training requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
-
Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or related fields from a recognized university; or a recognized professional qualification in Banking/Financial Services.

Strong knowledge of banking practices in Africa.

Strong credit analysis, documentation, and relationship management skills.

In-depth understanding of corporate banking products.

Experience in structured trade finance, syndication, and project financing.

Strong written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage).

Strong interpersonal and people management skills.

Proven ability to assess customer needs and structure suitable financial solutions.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Relationship Manager within the banking industry.

Proven sales and client relationship management experience in corporate banking.
