Job Summary
The Lead, Engineering Projects will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing the planning and execution of engineering and construction projects at the Bank, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes capital works, renovations, and infrastructure developments across the Bank’s HQ and regional offices.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned engineering and construction projects.

Coordinate and liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Oversee the preparation of feasibility studies, design briefs, specifications, and tender documentation.

Monitor project progress, budgets, and quality control to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Conduct site visits and technical inspections, resolve construction issues and assess contractor performance.

Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for senior management on project status.

Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards in all project stages.

Provide expert input to procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor selection processes.
Requirements:
Education:

A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

A postgraduate qualification (MSc or MBA) in a relevant discipline is an advantage.

Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Chartered Engineer status will be an added advantage.
Experience:

Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in engineering project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.

Proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects in Africa or internationally.

Experience working with multilateral institutions, commercial banks, or development organizations is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:

Strong project planning and organizational skills.

Knowledge of FIDIC and other international standards and construction contracts.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent software tools.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work across multicultural teams and in multiple locations.
