Job Summary
The Lead Architect will be responsible for managing and overseeing architectural design, planning, and execution of the Bank’s construction and renovation projects. The role ensures the alignment of architectural works with the Bank’s operational needs, design aesthetics, sustainability goals, and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the architectural planning, design, and detailing of Bank infrastructure and building projects.

Provide expert input on conceptual designs, space utilization, and workplace efficiency aligned with Bank strategy.

Manage external architects, consultants, and contractors for design development and construction documentation.

Coordinate design reviews, technical approvals, and ensure compliance with building codes and Afreximbank standards.

Review and approve architectural drawings, materials, and interior designs for all Bank facilities.

Support tender processes with architectural specifications and technical evaluation of proposals.

Supervise site activities related to architectural works, ensuring quality control and resolving design issues.

Advise management on innovative architectural solutions, energy efficiency, and sustainable design practices.
Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university.

Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field is an advantage.

Membership in a recognized professional architectural association is required.

Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
Experience:

Minimum of 8–10 years of architectural experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.

Strong portfolio of commercial/institutional building design and construction projects.

Experience working with international consultants, design teams, and contractors.

Prior experience in multilateral organizations or the banking sector is desirable.
Skills & Competencies:

Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM tools, and other architectural design software.

Deep understanding of local and international building codes and sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED).

Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong project management and leadership skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
