Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager, Corporate Strategy supports the Corporate Strategy function in the formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and control of the Bank’s strategic plans.
The role works closely with cross-functional teams to analyse evolving strategic priorities, provide analytical insights, and contribute to setting strategic objectives and performance targets. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting the development and monitoring of the Bank’s long-term strategy and annual business plans.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Strategy Development & Support

Assist in the development of the Bank’s long-term strategic plan and annual business plan.

Support preparation of strategy papers and product notes aligned with implementation of the corporate strategic plan.

Conduct research and analysis to support strategic positioning and decision-making.

Contribute to translation of strategic priorities into annual work programmes and departmental action plans.

Support monitoring of strategy implementation and performance tracking.
Strategy Monitoring & Reporting

Assist in preparing strategic reports and presentations for Senior Management and Board Committees.

Support half-year and annual strategic performance reviews.

Track key strategic initiatives and provide progress updates.

Contribute to environmental scanning and event-triggered strategic reviews.
Financial & Analytical Support

Assist in developing financial models and projections aligned with strategic objectives.

Conduct market, industry, and competitor analysis.

Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis exercises.

Provide analytical input to budgeting and planning processes.
Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with internal departments to gather data and align strategy initiatives.

Support stakeholder engagement activities linked to corporate strategy execution.
Compliance

Adhere to AML, Regulatory, and Conduct Compliance policies.

Report any suspicious or non-compliant activities.

Complete all mandatory compliance training requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
-
Postgraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognised university.
Experience
-
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in corporate strategy, consulting, financial services, or related fields.

Experience in strategic analysis, financial modelling, or business planning.

Strong understanding of African trade and development issues is an advantage.
