Registration Opens for 2020 Certificate of Finance in International Trade Programme

Cairo, 26 Sept. 2019: – The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), in collaboration with the FCI, Quarterback and University of Malta, today in Cairo announced the opening of registration for the 2020 cohort of the Certificate of Finance in International Trade (COFIT 2020) programme.

The programme, which is open to banking and trade finance professionals from across Africa, will be delivered in four full-time modules of one week each. Two modules will be delivered in Malta and the other two in Cairo, with the first module taking place in Cairo from 6 April 2020. All presentations take place in English.

Stephen Tio Kauma, Afreximbank’s Director and Global Head for Human Resources, said that the COFIT programme was developed to meet the demands of the commercial world and that it offered a platform for participants to increase their understanding of all aspects of international trade, import and export business, finance of international trade, supply chain finance and commercial finance, including factoring, invoice discounting and asset based lending.

Mr. Kauma encouraged Afreximbank’s partner organisations to enroll their staff members for COFIT 2020 in order to give them essential insight, awareness and understanding of international trade for their career development and enhanced skills.

He explained that although the full tuition for the programme was Euro 6,750 per student, Afreximbank would offer a 50-percent partial tuition scholarship to the first seven cadidates who confirm attendance and finalize their registration.
